SimonGreat comfortable shoe, stiff sole and love the boa system, the wheel is grippy and there's a distinctive click which helps fine tune tightness. design is ok but I don't love the shiny toe, weird looking. Otherwise a very solid shoe
Mr Cabahugtrue to size as it fits perfectly well on my feet. good value for my money as my first cycling shoe investment.
Richard SamuelsGreat service from Merlin as always, shoes arrived very swiftly. Have upgraded to these from Shimano RP5, as wanted to use a Boa system. The Giro size 45 was more realistic whereas the Shimano was in a 46 as their 45 was too tight. Key difference in performance terms is the stiffer Easton-manufactured sole of the Giro, really noticed it when pushing up a hill and feeling that my forward pressure on the pedals was being rewarded with immediacy. Not used the Boa system before and have identified that it is a mistake to make them too tight at the start, ( beleiving that it will hug my feet better ) as this caused some discomfort across the top of my feet where the tongue ends. Having now used them a few more times now, I am getting more familiar with the fit and the tension that can be applied. Looks wise, they are very smart and match my white Merlin Cordite perfectly. Lastly, Merlin's price was exceptionally attractive which helped clinch the deal.
Mr HiroI was changed from SIDI Genius 5. It feels like it is lightweight and your feet are wrapped in shoes. There are many places where mesh is used and ventilation is good. One of the unfortunate things is that the upper is hard, so I hit a bit on my right foot and it hurts a little.
Mr Boscolo MeneguoloThe trans boa Giro is a great shoe. Light and performing. Excellent Merlin Cycles servie
Mr DunnVery light, very comfortable. These are the first pair of road shoes I have owned and found comfortable. Size was spot on I have wide feet.
Mr KingGreat quick delivery...even internationally. Shoes are light and comfortable.
TravisAccurate sizing. Comfortable fit.
PeteVery comfortable, good looking
PeteGreat looking and fitting. Changed my mind on colour so bought the all black. The only negative is the boa loosen is full release. I`d prefer a ratchet release so to allow small increments to loosen during the ride.
wayneThese were my first pair of Boa System shoes, I usually wear the Velcro straps. I have had a few rides with these now 30 mile plus rides and they feel pretty comfortable. I would recommend going for a size up tho as they did fit pretty snuggly. The Boa system is fast and convenient , easy adjustable even while riding. I would recommend these and for the price of £91.99 this is not to bad as you do get this Boa System on the shoe. Hope this helps you guys find the right shoe as I spent weeks reviewing, reviewing , reviewing.
CarlI upgraded to these shoes from my Giro Apeckx as I wanted to take advantage of the Boa enclosure and lighter weight and stiffer sole. Whilst this ticks all the boxes and fits perfectly like my Apeckx, I knock a star off as the boa enclosure can't be turned incrementally to loosen the fit, it has to be completely released (pull-out) then re-tightened. I know on other boa dials you can do incremental loosen and tightens. So why Giro didn't spec this type of dial is hard to fathom. Otherwise, it's a great fitting and performing shoe.
Mr MooresThese shoes are great. They are light and comfortable. A great bargain
IsmoTrans has been my favourite for years already. The supernatural insoles have been replaced with simpler model, so tuning arch height no longer possible.
Mrs BradshawReally good shoes - fit better than Shimano
Mr Maldonado CarrilloA great purchase. I am impressed by the laces mechanism, it works so well that I wish all my shoes had it!
DavidGreat looking stiff soled shoe. Plenty of breathability in the uppers and the sizing is pretty true to form. Great value against other similarly priced shoes. Highly recommended.
